Beverly Hills Blue
Beverly Hills Blue is a contemporary residential landscape in Beverly Hills designed through bold planting composition, drought tolerant landscaping, and sculptural garden forms inspired by the Southern California climate. Organized through vibrant bands of blue flowering groundcover, layered succulents, and Mediterranean adapted planting, the landscape creates a strong visual rhythm that contrasts against lawn, gravel, and mature palms throughout the property.
The garden balances modern landscape architecture with a relaxed California garden character shaped through texture, color, and botanical form. Agaves, ornamental grasses, cactus varieties, flowering shrubs, and low water planting establish a layered residential landscape that feels immersive, graphic, and climate responsive while reinforcing long views and circulation across the site.
Design Approach
The landscape is organized through a series of linear planting bands that establish visual structure, continuity, and movement throughout the garden. Repetition of blue flowering groundcover creates a strong horizontal rhythm, allowing planting to function as both a spatial organizer and focal element within the landscape design.
A drought tolerant planting palette composed of succulents, agaves, ornamental grasses, cactus varieties, Mediterranean adapted species, and low water groundcovers reinforces the project’s climate responsive approach to contemporary landscape architecture. Layered planting compositions create contrast in texture, scale, and color while softening the surrounding architectural framework.
Circulation throughout the residential garden remains simple and understated, allowing the planting composition and sculptural botanical forms to define the experience of the site. Lawn panels, pathways, and planting terraces are integrated into the landscape framework to support movement while maintaining visual clarity and openness.
Material selections remain restrained and cohesive, allowing planting, color, and natural light to shape the atmosphere of the garden. The result is a modern residential landscape that integrates drought tolerant planting, contemporary garden design, and layered California planting into a cohesive outdoor environment reflective of Beverly Hills living.
