Desert Oasis

Organized around clarity, proportion, and movement between interior and exterior spaces, the residence extends into the landscape through structure and restraint. The result is a calm, ordered environment set within the desert context.

Arrival is defined as a deliberate sequence, while the rear garden shifts to a more reductive expression, where geometry and open space frame the experience. The landscape feels composed, quiet, and continuous with the architecture.

Design Approach

The landscape is structured through a clear axial organization that reinforces the architecture and defines movement across the site. The entry sequence was reworked to separate the driveway from the front approach, establishing a more intentional progression. A stepped concrete curve introduces a gradual ascent, using light and shadow to guide movement toward the entry.

Symmetry is used to anchor the arrival. An existing planter was retained and balanced with a new counterpart, reinforcing the central axis and creating a sense of order. Planting at the front is sculptural and restrained, placed to define space and provide presence without interrupting the architectural clarity.

In the rear garden, the design becomes more reductive. Clean lines and controlled geometry organize the pool, lawn, and terrace into a series of aligned planes. The landscape is intentionally minimal, allowing the contrast between the structured garden and the surrounding desert to remain clear and legible.

Lighting is integrated to reinforce primary axes and extend the spatial experience into the evening, maintaining the same sense of clarity, proportion, and restraint throughout.
