Mexican Beach Estate
Designed as a direct extension of the architecture by Ricardo Legorreta, the landscape reinforces the spatial clarity of the home while supporting outdoor living in a coastal environment.
A sequence of courtyards, terraces, and garden paths organizes movement through the site. Each space is defined by proportion, light, and material, creating a landscape that feels structured, calm, and connected to the architecture.
Design Approach
Hardscape establishes the primary framework. Stone, plaster, and wood elements define thresholds, circulation, and outdoor rooms with precision, aligning with the architectural language of the residence.
Planting introduces contrast and scale. Tropical and desert-adapted species provide texture and enclosure while remaining controlled and intentional. Layered planting softens the architecture without disrupting its clarity.
Water, fire, and gathering elements are integrated into the structure of the landscape, including the pool, courtyard seating areas, and fire features. Materials are selected for durability and performance in a coastal climate.
The result is a residential landscape that is ordered, restrained, and fully integrated with the architecture.
