The Arbor Garden

Status: Conceptual Design (3D Visualization)

In Sherman Oaks, the landscape is organized as a series of defined garden rooms, structured to support everyday outdoor living. A clear spatial framework connects each area while allowing the garden to feel intuitive and easy to use.

The landscape unfolds through a sequence of spaces—from shaded seating areas to open lawn—linked by planting and arbor-covered paths. Circulation is intentional, guiding movement while creating moments to pause. The result is a landscape that balances structure, function, and livability within a cohesive outdoor environment.

Design Approach

Hardscape defines the structure of the garden. Brick pathways, gravel surfaces, and clean edges organize circulation and establish usable outdoor areas with clarity and restraint.

Planting softens this framework through layered textures and seasonal variation. Hedges, flowering vines, and border plantings provide enclosure without heaviness, supporting a garden that feels both refined and natural.

Arbor structures frame key moments within the landscape, reinforcing movement and spatial sequence. Material selections prioritize durability and suitability for the Southern California climate, ensuring the design is both buildable and lasting.

As a conceptual landscape design, the project communicates layout, material relationships, and overall experience—providing a clear direction for implementation.
